Stephen Amell Originally Thought ‘Arrow’ Should Have Ended At Season 7

Stephen Amell Originally Thought ‘Arrow’ Should Have Ended At Season 7

Stephen Amell originally had a different idea to when Arrow should have concluded, as the actor originally thought the series should have ended at Season 7.

During a recent Facebook Live session, Stephen Amell talked to fans about the final season. This was in between scenes as the actor still had some of the eye makeup on. At one point during the session, Stephen Amell dug a bit into why he thought the show should have ended at Season 7 and what made him change his mind.

By the time Season 7 was wrapping up, Stephen Amell felt the show had its run and it was time for it to wrap up. At that point, however, he went on to support the show’s final season by teasing the cool things that will happen:

“I think that we’ve had our running time. That’s what I thought when I talked with Greg Berlanti in Season 6. I felt like we had done our thing. I thought ultimately theoretically Season 7 should’ve ended things. But to come back and do 10 episodes … what they’ve done with this final season is really cool. It’s like nothing you guys have ever seen. Every episode that comes out, it’s like ‘Wait a minute, what? It’s happening what and where and how? Ok, that’s cool. Let’s do it!’”

What do you all make of this? Was Stephen Amell right? Should Arrow have ended after Season 7? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Arrow Actor Stephen Amell Helping a Fan by Paying a Tribute to Her Son

Playing a superhero in the hit TV series Arrow, Stephen Amell is also becoming a hero in real life. Reached out by a fan and touched by her tragic story, the actor quickly responded and helped by paying a tribute in the best way he could.

Korey Finch is a ‘super fan’ of superheroes. Having the symbol of Damian Wayne (Robin) on one hand and Wonder Woman on the other, she also named her first son Grayson, after DC’s Nightwing. After her husband’s 30th birthday, Korey discovered that she was pregnant with another boy, who she planned to name after Damian, the son of Batman and Talia (the daughter of Ra’s al Ghul, who also appears in CW’s Arrow).

However, Korey was struck with tragedy as her newborn died just 34 weeks into her pregnancy. After honoring Damien with a superhero-themed funeral, she decided to reach out to Stephen Amell, playing ‘The Arrow’ in the hit TV Show, via Facebook. The popular actor, becoming a hero for Korey not just on the screen, but in real life, quickly responded to her. Meeting with Korey at the Dallas Comic-Con, he not only wore a Damien/Robin symbol t-shirt in a tribute to her lost son, but Amell also dedicated his visit to her family. In an interview with CW33, Korey stated that

If there’s anything a superhero can teach you, it’s when you get knocked down, no matter how many times you get knocked down, you have to get up.

The hit TV Show Arrow airs each Wednesday at 8pm on the CW.

Stephen Amell: Oliver Returns a “Humbled” Man

Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) made a dramatic return from the dead in Wednesday’s Arrow.

Oliver made his way back from oversees, and delivered a dramatic speech after convincing Merlyn (John Barrowman) to spare Brick’s (Vinnie Jones) life, even though the gangster was responsible for the death of Merlyn’s wife.

“You did not fail this city, and I promise I will not fail you,” Oliver said to the crowd.

Amell says Oliver returns to Starling City a changed man after losing a duel to the death with Ra’s Al Ghul (Matt Nable) and only being saved thanks to the healing powers of Maseo (Karl Yune) and Katana (Rila Fukushima). He’ll now team up with Merlyn in the coming rematch against Ra’s.

“He comes back having been humbled, which is an important lesson for anybody,” Amell tells The Hollywood Reporter. “You constantly have to be on the lookout for people in the world that are just going to destroy you.”

Taking on Ra’s was a foolhardy move (“It was not even that close,” says Amell of the duel), with Oliver going headstrong into the battle because otherwise his sister Thea (Willa Joanna Chance) would have been faced the same fate, as she murdered Sara (Caity Lotz), though only after being drugged by her father Merlyn.

Arrow’s Stephen Amell Cancels MegaCon Appearance Due To Filming Schedule

Arrow star Stephen Amell announced today via his Facebook page that he has to cancel his appearance at Orlando’s MegaCon in April to accommodate the show’s filming schedule.

Arrow, like most productions, returned from its year-end holiday hiatus this week and it’s likely that they just got their full production schedule for the rest of the year. Amell appears at numerous conventions around the country both during hiatus and during production, and has had to cancel two or three in the last year or so due to changes in the show’s production.

Here’s the message he sent to fans:

Hey everybody — really sorry to say that I have to cancel my trip to Megacon this year. I’m always sensitive to our production schedule and this years event falls during the middle of filming our finale. Typically, we work the Saturday to ensure we wrap by our last scheduled day. So this is completely my bad. I should have considered production logistics before prematurely agreeing to come, but I was excited about the event and tacking on a family visit in Orlando with my wife’s mom. Hope this doesn’t ruin too many plans. I know that the organizers have plenty of fantastic guests lined up. Sorry again. SA

Arrow returns to the air on January 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. MegaCon takes place on April 10-12 in Orlando and fans can get tickets here.

At present, both David Ramsey and Katie Cassidy, who play John Diggle and Laurel Lance respectively, are still listed as being guests at MegaCon.
